What size crate, harness and bed does your dog need — and how much should you feed?
Four answers from one form. Crate and bed sizes come from the manufacturers' own charts, harness size from a measured chest girth, and daily food from the veterinary calorie formula (RER × a published activity factor) divided by your bag's kcal per cup.

How the sizes are worked out
Crate. If you enter a body length, the tool adds the 2–4 inch allowance that crate makers and retailers recommend and picks the smallest crate whose interior is at least that long. Without a length it falls back to the manufacturer's weight bands (18 in for 1–6 lb up to 48 in for 90–110 lb). The welfare minimum is simple: the dog must be able to stand up and turn around.
Harness. Harness size is a girth measurement, not a weight. The chart used is Ruffwear's: XXS 13–17 in, XS 17–22 in, S 22–27 in, M 27–32 in, L/XL 32–42 in. Measurement is around the widest part of the rib cage. In between sizes? Choose the larger size.
Bed. Rectangle bed sizes follow Orvis's fit guide by dog weight: Small (28×18 in) up to 40 lb, Medium (36×24 in) 40–70 lb, Large (43×29 in) 70–100 lb, X-Large (53×35 in) 100+ lb.
Food. Resting energy requirement is RER (kcal/day) = 70 × body weight (kg)^0.75. That is multiplied by the Merck Veterinary Manual's maintenance factor for the life stage you pick (1.6× neutered adult, normal activity; 1.8× intact adult, normal activity; 1.4× adult, inactive or prone to weight gain; 3× puppy under 4 months; 2× puppy 4 months to adult size), then divided by the kcal per cup printed on your bag. The default of 369 kcal/cup is Purina Pro Plan Complete Essentials Shredded Blend Chicken & Rice (adult dry); Typical adult dry foods print between about 300 and 550 kcal per cup on the bag; the exact figure is on your bag's label and the tool accepts it. Treats count toward the total, and a dog's body condition — ribs easy to feel, visible waist — matters more than any formula.
Breed pages
Each breed page uses the breed standard's adult height and weight (or Wikipedia and VCA where the standard is silent, named on the page) to give the likely crate, bed and daily calories, with the ranges for male and female dogs where the source separates them.
