Kurgo Tru-Fit harness size chart
Kurgo sizes the Tru-Fit Smart Dog Walking Harness by chest girth with a dog-weight band beside each size. The 5 sizes run from X-Small at 12–18 in to X-Large at 28–44 in, and 4 of the 4 steps between neighbouring sizes overlap, so a dog measuring 18 in fits 3 sizes at once.

Reading this chart
The narrowest size is X-Small, covering 6 in of girth; the widest, X-Large, covers 16 in. Because 4 neighbouring pairs overlap, the chart often gives two or more answers for one tape measurement. The overlap is deliberate: each size adjusts across its whole range, so a dog in the shared zone can wear either, with the smaller one closer to its last notch and the larger one with room to tighten.
Breeds by weight band
Kurgo prints a dog weight beside each size. Matching those bands against the standard adult weight of the 132 breeds on this site gives a starting size before you measure; 73 of them land in more than one band, either because their standard range crosses a boundary or because the bands overlap. Measure the girth to decide.

15 breeds on this site can weigh more than the chart's top band of 110 lb: Bernese Mountain Dog (to 120 lb), Akita (American) (to 130 lb), Bullmastiff (to 130 lb), Black Russian Terrier (to 130 lb), Rottweiler (to 132 lb), Greater Swiss Mountain Dog (to 140 lb), Anatolian Shepherd Dog (to 150 lb), Neapolitan Mastiff (to 150 lb), Tibetan Mastiff (to 150 lb), Great Pyrenees (to 165 lb), Leonberger (to 170 lb), Newfoundland (to 176 lb), Great Dane (to 180 lb), Mastiff (to 190 lb), Saint Bernard (to 200 lb). The same girth on other charts
Sizes with the same name are not the same harness from one maker to the next. Here is what three measurements — the middle of this chart's smallest, middle and largest sizes — come out as on the other charts on this site, with Ruffwear read by its "choose the larger size" rule.
| Girth | Kurgo Tru-Fit | Ruffwear | PetSafe Easy Walk |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15 in | X-Small | XXS | Petite or Petite/Small or Small |
| 23 in | Medium | S | Small/Medium or Medium |
| 36 in | X-Large | L/XL | Large or Extra Large |
Measure with a soft tape around the widest part of the rib cage, a hand's width behind the front legs, snug over the coat; take it twice. Kurgo also asks for the neck, measured where a collar sits: the neck strap has to close as well, and its ranges overlap just as the chest ranges do. The full method, with the other makers side by side, is on the harness size page.
