PetSafe Easy Walk harness size chart
PetSafe sizes the Easy Walk Harness by chest girth with a dog-weight band beside each size. The 8 sizes run from Petite at 12–17 in to Extra Large at 32–49 in, and 7 of the 7 steps between neighbouring sizes overlap, so a dog measuring 32 in fits 4 sizes at once.

Source: PetSafe — Easy Walk Harness sizing chart (manufacturer, PetSafe UK product page), checked 2026-10-21. The maker's instruction, quoted: "Measuring your dog is the most accurate way to determine harness size. Weight ranges are only approximate. If your dog is between two sizes, choose a size up."
Reading this chart
The narrowest size is Petite, covering 5 in of girth; the widest, Extra Large, covers 17 in. Because 7 neighbouring pairs overlap, the chart often gives two or more answers for one tape measurement. The overlap is deliberate: each size adjusts across its whole range, so a dog in the shared zone can wear either, with the smaller one closer to its last notch and the larger one with room to tighten. PetSafe's own rule settles it: "choose a size up".
Breeds by weight band
PetSafe prints a dog weight beside each size. Matching those bands against the standard adult weight of the 132 breeds on this site gives a starting size before you measure; 96 of them land in more than one band, either because their standard range crosses a boundary or because the bands overlap. Measure the girth to decide.
| Size | Weight band | Breeds | Lightest to heaviest by standard top weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Petite | Under 10 lb | 22 | Chihuahua (3–6 lb), Poodle (Toy) (4.5–6.5 lb), Yorkshire Terrier (up to 7 lb), Pomeranian (3–7 lb), Maltese (7–9 lb), Papillon (4–9 lb) and 16 more |

| Small/Medium | 20–30 lb | 31 | Shetland Sheepdog (about 20 lb), West Highland White Terrier (15–20 lb), Welsh Terrier (about 20 lb), Schipperke (7–20 lb), Toy Fox Terrier (8–20 lb), Shiba Inu (18–22 lb) and 25 more |

| Extra Large | 90+ lb | 23 | Chow Chow (40–90 lb), Beauceron (66–99 lb), Doberman Pinscher (90–100 lb), Old English Sheepdog (79–101 lb), Borzoi (75–105 lb), Giant Schnauzer (75–105 lb) and 17 more |
The top band is open-ended (90+ lb), so every breed on this site has a band; the girth range of the Extra Large, 32–49 in, still sets the real limit.
The same girth on other charts
Sizes with the same name are not the same harness from one maker to the next. Here is what three measurements — the middle of this chart's smallest, middle and largest sizes — come out as on the other charts on this site, with Ruffwear read by its "choose the larger size" rule.
| Girth | PetSafe Easy Walk | Ruffwear | Kurgo Tru-Fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 14½ in | Petite or Petite/Small | XXS | X-Small |
| 27 in | Medium or Medium/Large or Large | S or M | Medium or Large |
| 40½ in | Extra Large | L/XL | X-Large |
Measure with a soft tape around the widest part of the rib cage, a hand's width behind the front legs, snug over the coat; take it twice. PetSafe also lists a chest width for each size, measured across the front of the chest; its page adds that "weight ranges are only approximate", so the tape decides. The full method, with the other makers side by side, is on the harness size page.
